Tourism sector – Corporate training

A value-added product

The marine eco-guide training provides several benefits for the tourism industry and in particular the marine tourism and services sector of Mauritius, namely: improved opportunity for employment and self employment for workers and professionals in this sector, a standard qualification recognised by employers and employees, and added value to the tourist experience in Mauritius, providing an additional edge over the global competition. The industry as a whole benefits from an improved and greater range of ecotourism services and professionals currently available, and building responsible tourism practices both from the client and service-provider ends.

A modular approach

The marine eco-guide course has been developed in a modular way, so that companies and individuals wishing to enroll in one or several modules can do so without having to enroll in the entire course. Depending on the number of participants and availability of trainers, the course schedule can also be tailored to meet the needs of the company.

Accreditation

The Course is Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA) approved and is in the process of being accredited by the Tourism Authority. Reef Conservation is a registered training institution and as such, participants in the course qualify for rebates offered by the MQA.
